Executive Committee announced for US Advanced Manufacturing Center

Troy, Mich., September 30, 2022The nationally-focused US Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a partnership between Automation Alley and the World Economic Forum with economic support from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Oakland County, announced the initial members of its Executive Committee today. The announcement was made by CEO Cynthia Hutchison and comes in advance of the Center’s invitation-only launch event, which will take place on October 4 at its headquarters in Troy, Michigan.

“Less than six months in, the US Center for Advanced Manufacturing is proving to be a magnet for manufacturing leaders from around the country, hailing from a variety of sectors, who are serious about rapid digital transformation in the manufacturing arena,” Hutchison said. “We are so pleased to have an Executive Committee comprised of dynamic industry leaders committed to the Center’s mission.”

 

The Executive Committee members to date are:

 

  • Paul Baldassari, Executive Vice President of Global Operations, Flex (California)

  • Carrie Uhl, Chief Procurement Officer, GE Healthcare (Wisconsin)

  • Mike Cicco CEO, Fanuc America Corporation (Michigan)

  • Kevin Czinger – CEO, Divergent (California)

  • Francisco Betti, Head of Advanced Manufacturing and Value Chains Platform, World Economic Forum (Geneva, Switzerland)

  • Annette Clayton,  CEO, Schneider Electric, North America (Ohio)

  • Savi Baveja, Cheif Sustainability and Incubation Officer, HP (California)

 

It was also announced that Josh Hundt, Executive Vice President, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and David Coulter, Oakland County (Michigan) Executive, will serve as special advisors to the Executive Committee. Additional Executive Committee members will be added over the next several months and each member’s seat is for one year. The role of the Executive Committee is to provide insight and direction to initiatives that support the Center’s commitment to accelerating advanced manufacturing in the U.S.

 

The US Center for Advanced Manufacturing, the only Center in North America, is part of the World Economic Forum’s global community of 16 Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) and is the first Center focused solely on advanced manufacturing. Collectively, the network of Centers help shape new strategies and policies in technology governance and work closely with the Forum’s Platform for Shaping the Future of Advanced Manufacturing and Value Chains.
